This photograph of the Mississippi River was made near Palisade, Minnesota. I’m intrigued by the shapes in the water, which remind me of a mushroom cloud, as well as by the place names of the photograph, and how it juxtaposes with the content of the photograph. A “palisade,” is a defensive formation in military parlance.
